Explore the changing nature of the West Rather than looking at Western civilization only as the history of Europe from ancient times to the present; this groundbreaking book examines the changing nature of the West—how the definition of the West has evolved and has been transformed throughout history. It explores the ways Western civilization has changed as a result of cultural encounters with different beliefs; ideas; technologies; and peoples; both outside the West and within it. Presenting a balanced treatment of political; social; religious; and cultural history; this text emphasizes the ever-shifting boundaries of the geographic and cultural realm of the West. Everyone should read this bookBy MellissaO boy I love this book It tells all about the history of women in America I never in my life new some of the amazing details of how women were treated. My Whole life I have heard about African American slaves and how they were treated with no rights but never have I been told that women were basically treated the same . This book has great detail and reads out so well there were parts of it that made me very angry. This book is a must read I was made to get it for a history class and I am very glad I had to read it . The book has change my perspective of women and rights and opened my eyes to so many possibilities and changes women have made in this world. This book should be a part of middle and high school teaching.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. amazing primary sources of USBy BeachBaberented the book for school; ended up buying it later..... amazing primary sources of US history0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
